Goodspace - Single Review: Bruises
Goodspace are living proof of thinking outside of the box.
Their newest single Bruises launches you into its wall of textured sounds and complex, layered melodies with a deep satisfying bassline dancing around the soundscape. The creativity and influence is almost gushing from the speakers.
There is a lot to comment on even in the space of three minutes; The mix is perfect and allows each piece of this puzzle to find its footing. However the vocals do get lost later on, whether this is a creative choice is unclear- it does add a sense of Ethereal-ism to the track.
The sheer amount of things happening- be that instruments or pieces of the background sound does make me put this into the genre-less pile; not that it avoids genres - but rather it’s something everyone can like. From old school rock fans, indie enjoyers and the elusive “I'll listen to anything” crowd especially.
At the end of the day there is a lot to love with this new song. Goodspace are offering us a very sweet taste of what’s to come; and I would love to see how they branch out their unique sound into the far reaches of music.
