All I Seek - EP Review: All I Seek

15 Dec 2022 // A review by Kerry MB

All I Seek is about to become your new favourite band and here’s why.

The 5-piece from Wellington seamlessly blend modern metal, pop and rock into package and execute it flawlessly.

And this is their debut EP.

The self-titled debut is astonishingly strong, more than what I expected and it says a lot about their musicianship and hard work. There is so much blood, sweat and tears in this five track EP.

Now let’s get to the good bits.

Opening track, The Bay is quite simply a stunner. It has it all, heavy, crunchy riffs, soaring melody, depth. You’ll be hooked before the end of the first verse.

Likewise when you get to third track, The Comfort, be prepared for it to annihilate every sense you have. Phenomenal.

But there is so much more.

Like any good piece of art, there is much to be said of how its crafted and storytelling. All I Seek hit the nail on the head with a solid balance between the two and lyrically captivates with optimism yet angst. The perfect storm of light and dark.

Further on in the EP, second to last track, Envy is such a jam. Those guitar riffs and vocals are sublime. Hats off to having such a fantastic rhythm section too because it's awesome to hear every nuance and not have it lost in translation. Vocalist and guitarist, James Gill and drummer, Jordan Ross’s guttural screams on this track are outstanding.

A strong and progressive body of work that will have you listen on repeat more times than you care to count. Truly fantastic and well done guys.

Rating: ( 5 / 5 )
