Saurian - Single Review: Tyre Tracks (In The Sky) – Acoustic Version

Alternative rock band from Dunedin, Saurian (meaning “lizard-like”), have recently re-released a new single of an old favourite, Tyre Tracks (In The Sky) as an acoustic version. Removing the loud distorted guitars, drums and big vocals, resulting in a restrained sound consisting of acoustic guitar, strings, percussion and softer vocals.

Removing the loud distorted guitars, drums and big vocals, resulting in a restrained sound consisting of acoustic guitar, strings, percussion and softer vocals.
Tyre Tracks (In The Sky), is the first track to be released from Saurian's debut album Brooding (2020) as an acoustic version. Originally starting life as a hard rock song (think Queens Of The Stone Age). This is a striped back version of the original. Less grunge rock and more in favour of mellow melodic layers.
The release of this song has a classical tone with the incorporation of cello and violin. The addition of bongo drums, shakers and harmonica create a full textured sound even without the hard rock energy.
Saurian have a diverse sound, not afraid to push boundaries with their musical endeavours. The acoustic version of (Tyre Tracks In The Sky) will still appeal to their wider audience, as well as grabbing the attention of new listeners.
