Casey Evans - Single Review: Somewhere

07 Nov 2019 // A review by Corinne Rutherford

A Southern girl from the Catlins, Casey Evans, formally of energetic pop duo ChanTilly, has gone out on her own with her unique blend of soulful country. Somewhere is her debut single, and it has already been added to the Hatchlings playlist on Spotify.

Casey has a sound which I could describe as “Nashville” sweet, appealing and very marketable. Her vocals on Somewhere are a smooth melodious mix of Country with a dash of RnB which she infuses into her music.

The song writing is captivating and engaging and it becomes quickly evident Casey knows her stuff on the acoustic guitar. The track flows in a cohesive honeyed blend of alluring vocals and fresh upbeat instrumentation.

Well-seasoned at touring and performing at music festivals, the release of Somewhere will kick off her ‘Somewhere Back Road Tour’ with friends. She will then head off to Australia to record her debut album early 2020.

Rating: ( 5 / 5 )
