8Forty8 - 8Forty8-Edge Of Time (Hot Metal Magazine)

23 Dec 2004 // A review by gatman
This is exellent. Intended more as a release than a demo. This group from New Zealand have an absolutely huge tape on their hands here.
Liberal doses of the best of everything. In other words, virtuos musicianship, polished production, catchy choruses, the whole damn nine. The twelve songs on this album cover the field from big, ballsy stadium rockers to radio friendly, balladic tear jerkers. It allows the band to use their whole song list to snare you in and carry you along across, the full width of this band's musical menu. an outstanding piece of work.

About 8Forty8

A band of four brothers with a true passion for classic rock music. Based in Hamilton, New Zealand, 8Forty8 have built a reputation as a top quality, world class outfit. Influenced by super groups like Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin, they are renowned for their live show which is action packed, dynamic and powerful. In 2008, members were invited to perform onstage with Deep Purple and Black Sabbath legend Glenn Hughes at the G-TARanaki International Guitar Festival, sharing the bill with guitar virtuso Joe Satriani. In 2010, they were again called upon for their session work at the festival.2011, 8Forty8 members performed at Hamilton's Founders Theatre with Chris Thompson, former frontman of legendary 70's group Manfred Mann's Earthband, performing hits such as Blinded By The Light and 'The Mighty Quinn.
