Cheshire Grimm - EP Review: Cheshire Grimm

06 Jun 2015 // A review by Kerry MB

Hamilton/Melbourne trio Cheshire Grimm are ones to watch with the flurry of attention surrounding their debut self titled EP that was released a few months ago.

A wicked blend of genres can be heard from rock, pop and metal. Vocalist/guitarist Kat Waswo has a sweet voice with a versatile range, however, Cheshire Grimm are unique and it’s hard to compare them to anyone which is a rare find!

Misery and K.I.S.S are stand out tracks with stellar guitar riffs, I’m hooked from the first listen so it’s back for seconds and then thirds. Offering crunchy and solid musicianship, Cheshire Grimm work together well and I can only imagine how impressive their live sets must be.

Simplicity best sums up Cheshire Grimm, they manage to blow your mind with great melody and synchronization.

My only other gripe is not having access to a hardcopy, as this is an EP I could happily play over and over again!

Stay tuned for Cheshire Grimm - good things are to follow!

About Cheshire Grimm

Genre: Melancholic Wonder / Prog-Alt-Pop-Glitter
What do you see when you think of Cheshire Grimm?

The brainchild of Kat Waswo (vocals/bass) and Lora Thompson (guitar/vocals) has created a dark creature, twisting through the motions of light and dark, threading their bright colours into a warm blanket of melancholy.

Pale Flag - EP Review: Imperium
29 Jan 2024 // by Kerry MB
With a lot of misconceptions about deathcore, it’d be easy to lump Pale Flag into “one of those bands” based on the sub-genre alone. Luckily, I love metal in the most extreme and Pale Flag just so happen to create deathcore of the finest, which makes it even better to enjoy.
