Foamy Ed - EP Review: A Moments Need

30 Nov -0001 // A review by Shade
What do you think when you hear 'all girl band'? Is it the Spice Girls, All Saints or Sugababes that comes to mind? If so, you may also feel that every all girl band out there are manufactured and designed for that tenny-bopper sound we have all become so familiar with.

Foamy Ed prove that this is not always the case, with this, their second EP, A Moments Need.

Foamy Ed may be an all girl band, but that is where the similarities ends. With hard hitting performances from a live band, and live vocals, this is one all girl band that is 100% non-manufactured. Foamy Ed is an all girl band showing everyone out there that females can create that pop-punk sound for themselves.

Recorded by Paul Matthews of Blindspott fame, this highly anticipated EP is guaranteed to satisfy even the most critical of pop-punk lovers.

27 Nov 2023 // by Shade
Whatever came out of the pandemic, it stranded some amazing talent here long enough for them to enrich our musical world. Down into the Lopdell labyrinth, a buzz of age-spanning expectancy waited for two of these: Maggie Cocco and her accompanist for the tour Bonnie Schwarz who would add much more than just ‘sad cello’ to tonight’s epic cycle of piano songs.

Eve Kelly @ Jam Factory, Tauranga - 03/03/2023
08 Mar 2023 // by Shade
The ‘Sold Out’ sign is a good sign and it went up several days before Eve Kelly’s first show at The Jam Factory in Tauranga’s Historic Village. Whakatane-based Eve Kelly is a star on-the-rise and she put on a show that left her audience, old and new, elated and begging for more.

Coridian - Single Review: Seed II

There's an implicit line in Rock music between the head-banging craze that makes you want to raid the mosh pit, and the refined preciseness of a subtle yet powerful tune. Very few bands can master both.
