At their usual haunt, the much loved and infamous Lovelands venue, Curlys Jewels sat down with The AUX Return to chat about their new self titled album.
They discussed how they had grown up from a baby band, working with producer Greg Haver, their stripped down sound, who would replace them if they had access to any musician living or dead, and when they would time-travel to in New Zealand's rich history of rock music.
But are they just rock though? Or if there something more burbling beneath the surface? Check out this interview which begins with the bizarre news that Corey broke his week-old wedding ring at soundcheck the day beforehand...
About Curlys Jewels
The band has released a number or records over the years enjoying success on the Official NZ Top 40 Charts. The past 3 Curlys Jewels singles were recorded at Roundhead Studios with the legendary producer Greg Haver (Manic Street Preachers) and mixed by Clint Murphy (Devilskin).
Curlys Jewels have supported several heavy weight New Zealand bands such as Head Like a Hole, Devilskin, and toured with The Feelers. They also supported international rock stars Living Colour at their Wellington concert.
