The Frank Burkitt Band - Raconteur out today

09 March 2018 - 0 Comments

Creating a truly genre spanning album influenced by jazz, blues, folk, swing and all things American Roots, The Frank Burkitt Band’s new album Raconteuris out today!

In celebration they have released a new video for their previously released track Simple. Frank penned the track after that thing all artistic types eventually find themselves allergic to… a desk job.

'As the song suggests, the music video is very straightforward. The whitewashed room and the deadpan expression on Frank's face as he walks forlorn to the nearest bar to cure his exasperation by necking a beer. The song was born out of Frank's frustrations when working with difficult people and the dog (Colin) was there to try and cheer him up, whilst at the same time continually pestering him, reflecting the aforementioned people in Frank's life. '

With sweeping strings, a plucky double bass riff and hugely relatable lyrics,Simple is one of 10 songs on the album indicative of Burkitt’s ability to not only convey profound messages and entertaining anecdotes in his songs.

New Zealand audiences will get a chance to experience these true and tall tales in wonderful settings throughout Aotearoa this April when The Frank Burkitt Band embark on a nationwide tour.
