Passing Shadows - an Album not of this world

03 August 2016 - 0 Comments

The new ‘conceptual album’ Passing Shadows is a very thought provoking and inspiring album written, performed and produced by Dizzy Height.

The topic of this album is death; but in a positive reflective way Dizzy Height traverses many dimensions the subject matter posed, from astral travel to being so comfortable with life in general that to consider what happens when we ‘pass away’ and we all will at some point and that’s something most people like not to talk about.

The album features an interesting blend of classically inspired pieces that blend well with traditional ‘rock guitar’ oriented tracks which adds to the rich tapestry of this musical journey.

Having worked as an Embalmer / Funeral Director for 9 years Dizzy has seen a lot of ‘death’ varying from peaceful natural exits to the most horrific cases that not many people have had the opportunity to experience.

The inspiration for the album is based on many experiences that just can’t be explained all of which have manifested themselves in one form or another on this truly original album.

From the opening title track Passing Shadows to the final track After Life the album has a positive theme which encompasses all the things that most people have thought about at some stage including tracks such as Brave New World which is Dizzy’s genuine wish for the people of this world to pull together, get over individual differences which often lead to conflict and enter into a new world order of compassion, understanding and acceptance of the diversity which makes this world and all that live in it unique.

We're only of this world for a cosmic blink of an eye and if we can heal the conflicts that have torn us apart for centuries then not only will this world be a better place but we all as individuals may find that when we do pass over into the next world we can rest easily that we have in our own individual way left this world a better place than when we entered it.

So, lets put aside religious, cultural and all other personal differences and enjoy the journey this album offers.

Passing Shadows is available from iTunes, Google Play and Amazon and streaming on all major sites.
