The current line up of Telepathy Council mid 2011.
It consists of Ed Wakem on Guitars and vocals and Joel Orme Rhythm/ lead guitars.
Fusing the sounds of 70s and 90s arena rock with the intamacy of meaningful thought provoking lyrics, (influenced by the likes of Ray Davies ( The Kinks) Neil Young and Billy Corgan to name a few). Telepathy Council brings to the stage an all out arsenal of sound.
Th...e name was conceived by Ed one night when explaining to some friends what being in a band is.
" When your onstage you cant yell at each other where in the song you are, so its like a Telepathy between the musicians. Eventually you all end up at the right spot in the song."
The bringing together of Joel into the band moulded stepping stones of bringing Eds idea to fruition.
Joel Orme is a new addition to the Telepathy Council sound bringing influences from Explosions in the sky, Tool, John Mayer and Foals to name a few.
A tight and fat sound of guitar brings a new and exciting aural experience to the New Zealand music scene.
With the addition of an acoustic setting for the music, Telepathy Council can show and perform a more intimate and colourful set expanding the music and instrumentation. Acoustic shows are planned for the near future with a mix of old and new band members joining the journey
