Royal Blood announce their biggest headline shows next May

20 July 2017 - 0 Comments

On the cusp of their sold out Sydney show and headline slot at Splendour In The Grass, Frontier Touring and I OH YOU are delighted to announce that Royal Blood will be returning to Australia and New Zealand next April and May to play their biggest venues on our shores to date.

Can’t wait to come back over next year and do some bigger shows & get out to places we’ve never played before. We hope you’re enjoying the new album & we’re excited to play you these new songs. Hope to see you there! - Royal Blood

The British rock duo will play six shows – including their first ever shows to Brisbane, Perth and Auckland crowds – in celebration of their acclaimed second album How Did We Get So Dark? (out now via Warner Music).

‘The most universally deified emergent UK rock band since the Arctic Monkeys first thawed out a decade ago.’ – Pitchfork

‘Ambitious and satisfying.’- Allmusic

‘Each track is executed with crushingly focused precision.’ - Clash Music

Forming in Brighton in 2013, Royal Blood’s self-titled first record became the UK’s fastest selling rock debut in three years upon its release in 2014. Hit singles Out of the Black and Little Monster received widespread praise and earned them a nomination for BBC Sound of 2014, while their glorious track Figure It Out has over 15 million views on YouTube and almost 50 million plays on Spotify.

The duo’s follow-up release How Did We Get So Dark? has been quick to follow suit, debuting at #1 on the UK Albums Chart, #4 in the ARIA Album Charts and #6 in the NZ Album Charts. With hit tracks Lights Out, I Only Lie When I Love You and Hook, Line & Sinker gaining over 19 million streams collectively since April.

Mike Kerr (bass guitar/vocals) and Ben Thatcher’s (drums) return to Australia and New Zealand follows a series of sold-out tours over the past few years. From their debut shows in May 2014 to today, Royal Blood have solidified themselves as an electrifying live act:

‘It was all just a taste of what's to come, and indeed it has us anticipating the full length and their inevitable return to our shores.’ – The AU Review

‘Their breakneck, hour-long set was a jubilation in what should be a powerful year for the two twentysomethings.’ – Consequence of Sound

‘For anyone who loses sleep at night fearing that Rock is dead, Royal Blood offers more than a little hope.’ – Live In Limbo

Royal Blood have consistently sold out shows each time that they’ve toured our fine countries. Whether you’ve missed the chance to see their powerful live show in the past or want to go on the wild ride all over again, act quick to pick up your tickets to the duo’s biggest AU & NZ headline tour next April and May!
