GLASS OWLS

DEAD LOVE EP
OUT JUNE 28th

For Glass Owls, a reputation as a great live act without releasing a record is finally set to change on June 28th with the release of their debut EP Dead Love. It’s been a long wait but the six songs Cameron Allan (Drums), Christopher Pearce (Bass), Anthony Metcalf (Guitar) and Tomas Nelson (Vocals) have delivered on the E.P are sure to satisfy their fans and all lovers of intelligent, hook laden kiwi pop.

Produced by up and coming whiz kid Dave Parker, Dead Love is a collection of their very best songs and suggests a band that is wise beyond their years. The songs are delivered with much more depth than the already stellar live versions which have delighted audiences.

It could be argued that Glass Owls are one of the hardest working bands in the country. Formed in Howick, Auckland in 2007 as “Three Kings” (later “The Collection” before landing on their current name), they have been tirelessly touring, playing at almost every relevant Auckland live venue. They have appeared on 95bFM’s Fancy New Bands Show and Balcony TV and in 2009 they recorded an extremely popular Red Bull Live Studio Session. Their song ‘Sarah’ was featured on Remix Magazine’s “Indie Remix CD”. Their catchy tunes and energetic live shows have allowed them to carve a name for themselves in the extremely competitive Auckland music scene.

2010 promises to be an exciting year for Glass Owls. Following the release of the EP, they will be playing release gigs on the 25th June at Auckland’s Cassette #9 and Wellington’s Mighty Mighty Bar on the 26th. The first single ‘No Avail‘ is at alternative radio now and a video is set to hit TV screens in the near future. The release of Dead Love on June 28thpromises to be an important date in New Zealand music calendar and will not be the last word from this talented quartet.
