YOU JUST DON'T CARE IS AVAILABLE NOW FROM ITUNES AND JB HI-FI STORES NATIONWIDE FROM TOMORROW!

Pipe Down is a lobby group aiming to initiate changes to New Zealand legislation to allow family-enforced detox/rehab for loved ones who become addicted to meth.

The Pipe Down Project band has released a single, You Just Don't Care to raise funds to enable the campaign to continue.

The song captures the dire journey for families of meth addicts who are powerless to help them and save them from themselves.

Featuring vocals from Miss George Lane, the song can be heard here.

Says Lane, ""I feel lucky to have been chosen to sing this song - the moment I heard the demo I knew there was something quite special about it, a haunting quality which is incredibly powerful. I usually sing Jazz and Blues; this is new ground for me."

You Just Don't Care is available now from iTunes and is also available as a CD single in all JB Hi Fi stores from tomorrow, Friday, October 17. Proceeds from the sales will be used to fund the Pipe Down campaign.

David Collinge, the founder of the Pipe Down Foundation who unfortunately has had first-hand experience with this issue, wrote the song and says it came from the heart.

"I have written quite a few songs over the years, most of them sound like someone set fire to the SPCA. This one spilled out in under 10 minutes, and I reckon it's pretty good. There is some heart in it," says Collinge.

The song is being officially launched on Tuesday, October 21 by associate minister of health, Peter Dunne at a launch event at 6pm at the Southern Cross Guest Room, 39 Abel Smith Street, Wellington, where the band will be performing the song live.
