Dying of the Light is the new musical output of Rangi Powick and Chris Rigby, who played together in CHCH underground band Chapel of Gristle in the early-mid 90s.
Rangi and Chris have both been involved in the New Zealand underground and alternative music scenes in New Zealand for years. Rangi was the Programme Director at Radio One 91FM in Dunedin for several years and Chris is a tour promoter of undergound acts and publisher of a fanzine under the name Subcide Productions.
The third collaborator is Nich Cunningham who currently plays guitar in Auckland band Malevolence and has mixed and has worked with many NZ acts as a live and studio engineer and producer.
Currently Dying of the Light are demoing tracks (hit the myspace link to check them out) and starting to think about playing live in the not too distant future.
Influences: Black Sabbath, The Melvins, Godflesh.
