The Sound Laydee is one of the most unique acts on this site, in fact probably the only solo keyboard act here. At a typical gig you are likely to experience a smorgasbord of sounds, including (but not limited to) rap, pop, ska, jazz, comedy, hip-hop, and punk. The Sound Laydee's aim is to entertain, but also to communicate ideas, raise issues, dis dummies and talk about Fonzie.
The Sound Laydee is based in Auckland, and has been playing gigs since early 2000 and in that time has had the good fortune to play with some of the best punk, hardcore, ska and rock'n'roll bands in Auckland and beyond. In addition to this, she has opened for overseas luminaries such as Good Clean Fun, Dr. Explosion, Yo La Tengo and The Bangs.
