Evil Priest

Bio

With the release of '3: A Hardcore Legacy', Evil Priest will not only solidify themselves as true Hardcore Gods of New Zealand, but also be one of if not the only NZ hardcore band to reach the milestone of three albums.

Over their 6 year history, Evil Priest have become notorious as true pioneers of live destruction. Their shows have become famed and legendary for their sheer embodiment and representation of the hardcore spirit along with the extremely high injury rate they boast. What could be expected however with a line-up that boasts current and ex-members of renowned NZ hardcore bands such as DSM, Coming Of The New Messiah, The Red Shift, This Night Creeps, The Warpath and Daredevil, '3: A Hardcore Legacy' sees The Priest carrying on their burning trail of fast-paced and occasionally metallic hardcore, building on the success of '2: Hardcore Gods' and making a record that is going to top all expectations and make hardcore history.

From the metallic crunch of 'Waste Not Want Not' right through to the closing moments of Integrity cover 'Jagged Visions', this album confronts it's lyrical demons with ferocious rage. The dual vocals of Cash Dog and Dean Parkin are on form as they lay waste to watered-down hardcore commercialism and apathy, backing it up with the 'good time' hardcore classics that have given them their reputation as one of New Zealand's most amazing and innovative bands to date. This is the perfect combination of early hardcore speed in the vein of Cro-Mags and Bad Brains fused with the metallic crunch of S.O.D and Ringworm, with the intensity of newer bands like The Suicide File thrown all together. Phew!
The album has only two tracks previously heard, one of which is the aformentioned Integrity cover; and this gives the record the enigmatic advantage that will make it one to remember.

As seen headlining 2004's Hamtown Smakdown and opening for Terror, Throwdown, Madball, Hatebreed, Sick of it All, Most Precious Blood and more.
