Mike Puke started playing guitar, and formed Nelson punk band, Dead Centre, in 1988. Dead Centre was to last for ten years.
In 1997, he started recording his own songs, and has now released three albums. In 2001, he moved to Dunedin, and formed The Pukes, a band which plays live versions of his recorded songs.
