Formed in the winter of 2003, Sixlip are one of the newest bands on the Christchurch scene, and also a member of that relatively select fraternity - South Island hardcore bands.
The band's first three months of existence were spent practicing, and in an unusual move, also recording. The band have self-recorded a five-song EP entitled 'Truth Be Told', which was released in 2004.
Describing their own sounds, Sixlip say their songs are "short and to the point, with intense off-beats and well-deserved breakdowns". The four-piece are looking to increase their live presence during 2004, working out from their Christchurch home base. Watch out for 'em.
