Bio

Belle Bird is a female acoustic duo. They formed in the deep south of New Zealand in 2007. The combination of Anna Van Riel and Jo Little’s solo talents has created an eclectic and unique style of bluegrass and contemporary rock music to entertain the masses. With beautiful vocal harmonies woven over a range of instrumental accompaniments, including guitar, bass, ukulele, flute, harmonica and kazoo, the duo perform an assortment of original and covered songs. Belle Bird is a fun and captivating night’s entertainment for all ages.

Since Belle Bird’s formation these southern songstress’s have taken the south by storm opening for nationally successful touring artists Karen Hunter, Tim Guy, Paul McLaney, Age Pryor and Luke Hurley. They have also made regular appearances on Invercargill’s Cue TV, featuring in the local newspapers Southern Express, Southland Times and the Otago Daily Times on numerous occasions. Belle Bird have performed at the Queenstown market, Invercargill Farmer’s market, the Blue Duck Bar in Milford Sound, The Black Dog and The Fat Duck in Te Anau and The Jam Jar in Dunedin as well as many private functions and venues within Invercargill.

The southern songstress’s are flying north for the summer.
Belle Bird, an all female acoustic duo formed in the deep south of New Zealand,
are about to embark on their first ever tour of New Zealand, with their eclectic and
unique style of acoustic contempoary bluegrass music to entertain the masses.
