In just one year since his arrival to London in 2004, Maori descendent and New Zealand singer-songwriter, Jayson Norris has stunned audiences and all those who cross his musical path. A graduate of Waikato Polytechnic Commercial Course, Jayson majored in song writing and has been living his dream since, achieving national TV appearances and radio air play in New Zealand, gigs in Sydney, Queensland, Auckland, Hamilton, the Maldives and now in London.
In November 2004 Jayson signed to Independent A&R Records (UK) with whom he has recently produced his new EP featuring six potential hits and a debut music video.
Operations Manager at A&R, Dave Harris said "Jayson is a top recording artist who has all the cognitive parts in place, including a recording and management deal with Independent A&R Records (UK), our next stage is this artist and package with a major label or distribution company that has the same vision as us."
In December, Jayson was voted Best Newcomer by Matchbox Radio 24 for 2004 and his song 'Aeroplanes' can currently be heard on internet radio station Matchbox Radio 24.
'Aeroplanes' is also featured on compilation CD 'Playtime' released in January 2005 and distributed by Matchbox Recordings, Tower Records and CD Baby.
"This man writes songs that stick in your head when you brush your teeth, have your lunch, have a snack, and go to bed at night, brilliant light pop...." - Dave Chislett, Music Journalist.
