THE START

Superturtle's debut release in August 2008 was heralded by an inaugral live performance featuring special guests Chris Knox and The Nothing. ****

Returning with its three-track mini EP is Auckland band Superturtle, who surprised and delighted in 2008 with its debut release, a 7" gatefold single and CD package. Superturtle's upfront combination of retro-pop and colourful dynamics of sound returns on Valley Town. The title track is gently paced, incorporating ringing tones and the harmonic vocals of Jude Aish and Darren McShane. Dead or Alive livens up the pace with its fuzzy rhythms and snappy vocal approach. Ending with the illuminating About The Sun, Superturtle returns full of refreshing arrangements and well constructed songs. Roll on the next release.
