Blair Parkes is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist living in Christchurch.
'The End' was recorded by Blair at his home on a 4 track tape recorder. Blair plays all the instruments. His instrumental abilities include vocals, guitar, keyboards, drums and bass.
Blair has been inventing and developing his ideas by making 4-track recordings since 1986. his recordings are personal with unique character and feel, often conjuring up images in the mind of the listener.
Blair has a new three song EP 'East Coast' ready for release on Wrong records. Recorded in Wellington, this multitrack recording has already received heavy airplay on student radio.
Blair is currently a member of Range. In 1999 Wrong records released Ranges CD LP 'All The Way To Lunch' to considerable critical acclaim. The album was a finalist in the 'Best Independent Album' category at the 1999 bFM Music Awards.
Blair's songs and song writing skills have fuelled a number of Christchurch bands in the last 18 years. His songs have featured on over 20 releases. He also currently plays in 103 with other Flying Nun alumni, Richard James and Marcus Thomas. 103 have over 100 songs in their repertoire. Blair has also performed with the like-minded Creeley.
