Bio

Two piece guitar noise band from Dunedin, came from the ash's of Squirm, who released CDs through the Noseflute label in Christchurch during the 90's.

Hiss Explosion released their self-titled album through Dunedin label Arclife records in late 2002.

Sadly, Mike Brassell passed away in early 2004, a victim of sudden illness. A memorial gig was crafted in his honour in both Christchurch, and his adopted home of Dunedin.

"Don't seem to mind making a schizophrenic racket that shifts easily from hazy pop to sonic experimentation" Todd Murray - Rip It Up Dec/Jan 2003 issue.

"...their sound is a compelling merger of layered, delicate melodies and sparse arrangements, bedding down with Gordons-like textures of noise and music. Driven by a garage-punk/flying nun dynamic..." Brent Cardy - Real Groove Dec 2002.
