a review on The Accelerants submitted by Shade.
The Accelerants pocket size CD single has an excellent review in the June issue of Real Groove.
"The novel packaging award of the month goes to Wellington band The Accelerants with their pocket-friendly 3" CD single 'Raygun' (Rock-O-Tronic). Led by Marty Squire (ex D-Super), The Accelerants are a blast of clean air through the haze of mediocrity, a 60s flurry of fuzz, organ and retro-rock fever.
"The title track is a party tune with a Kinks-quality riff. Much added pleasure can also be found within the unlisted material included, in prime grunge-fi, on the end of the second track. With a reverent burst of rockability-style surf guitar, and an 'accelerated' version of Bo Diddley's 'Who Do You Love?', these additions bring the sum total of 'Raygun' to the best introduction a fan could want."
