Re-Creation formed in late 2001. Based in Palmerston North, the band first got together in order to fill a space on the bill at Palmy's all ages venue Creative Sounds (The Stomach). The four-piece clicked, however, and have progressed to playing regularly on the live scene, playing shows with bands such as Sommerset, Release, GMC and 7.62 Short.
The band's sound has evolved rapidly as well, becoming an eclectic hybrid of metal, rock, punk, hardcore and even jazz influences.
Re-Creation disbaned in late 2003 and Grayson went on to become a solo perfomer. Keir Scott also now performs with Fallen Hero.
