a review on 5th Threat submitted by dagizzyboy.
oh k, so most of the gisborne punks were hooked on 5th threat way b4 they ever played here with the much copied single 'angst'. but that didn't mean that we were sick of them. it meant it was a tease for us to hear more. unfortunitely with me being the stage manager, i didn't get to see a lot of their performance, but what i did see. man. woah.
5th threat are by far my best nz punk band (well after minus title, next in line and brubeck) they are way up there. full of energy on and off the stage, these guys had a great time. their set was perfect for time and had a variety of great solos by all musicians.
things that will always be remembered in our minds is the:
16th beats druming (still to hear another drummer match that)
wicked gat solos and singing by rahps
phat as harmonizing by jamie, and he also had a phat as unique bass sound aswell.
these guys rock and if u eva get the chance to see them, it'l blow your mind.
not only are they good musicians, they are wicked as guy who get along with everyone.
cheers guys, hope to see you back here soon!
