Rahhpz and Jamie had been boys for years and when in search for a drummer, they were introduced to a younger kid who Rahhpz used to terrorize at high school. Initially Chris was in three bands already and was hesitant to join, but after their first jam however, he was intrigued by the speed and urgency of this alien sound. A few more jams and he was hooked.
After years of playing as a three peice the guys deceided on finding a fourth member to fatten the rythm section. The search was a long and winding road, then on one fatefull weekend at some punk festival in Whakatane featuring Sommerset and The Bleeders they bumped into Matt of Cheap for a Reason who inadvertantly told them his band had split and he was moving to Auckland. It wasnt untill three months later at Kings Arms that they were drawn together once more for Sommerset's last show and the question was put "when are you moving your ass to Auckland?" 3 weeks later the Threat became four.
Recently Jamie has left and Josh from Bloodletting is filling in while the band hunts for a more permanent bassist
Formed in 2000 with influences from bands such as The Clash and The Ramones, the Threat are constantly writing songs telling stories from personal experiences of triumph, loss and life while maintaining steady gigs around the country.
