Goldenhorse dropped from NZ Music Awards category Posted: Wed Apr 16, 2003 6:55 pm Goldenhorse have been pulled from the 2003 NZ Music Awards 'Breakthrough Act' award category.
RIANZ advises that the entry by the group Goldenhorse has been withdrawn from the Breakthrough Artist category of the 2003 New Zealand Music Awards. The conditions of entry for the category state that groups or artists are not eligible if they or any member of the group have previously been a finalist in any other Tui category.
It seems no-one at RIANZ was aware of the existence of ex-members of Bressa Creeting Cake in the band, which made Goldenhorse ineligible for the 'new band' award, as the RIANZ rules state that bands nominated in the 'Breakthrough' category cannot have members who have been nominated in other categories in previous years.
P-Money is now a finalist and joins The Datsuns and Blindspott in the Xbox / ZM Breakthrough Artist of the Year category. It's not all bad for Goldenhorse though, they're still up for Best Album and Best Female Vocalist. |
