TieDye

Bio

TieDye are a three piece powerhouse hailing from New Zealand’s Deep South, Invercargill. TieDye break the barriers between genre-specific music and create songs taking elements from many different forms of music. Finding roots in the hard rock, funk, reggae, metal genres, the band’s sound can change from a very groove laden, hard hitting rock attack to a more groovy, laid back reggae or funk drop ballad of sorts. This makes for a very ‘colourful’ marriage of music. Song topics such as political views, relationship advice and lava lamps…are delivered by the ballsy voice of frontman Daniel Sugrue, layering over the catchy rhythms and riffs that are being played on guitar and complimented by the uber-tight rhythm section of Jayden Shaw on bass and Jake McQuarrie on Drums. TieDye play many gigs with other local artists and headline their own gigs primarily around the Southland and Otago regions.

Band Members:
Daniel Sugrue (vocals, guitar)
Jayden Shaw (bass, vocals)
Jake McQuarrie (drums)
