42 are a Christchurch based alternative rock band.

The group was formed by in 2010 when a mutual passion for music bought Damon, Simon and Justin together for jams in the 'white room'.

They decided on the name '42' after Douglas Adams wrote that it was indeed the Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe and Everything.

It also refers to the latitude through New Zealand.

The band's musical style is based on alternative and modern rock.

They are great value live, as they perform a combination of covers and original music.

All bringing different qualities to the group, a 42 gig is guaranteed to pleasantly surprise...
