Discover the classic sound of Auckland band Junipah.
Junipah formed from different backgrounds to bring a new melodic driven rock sound. Their lists of influences are vast and their sound eclectic, but it's their indie-slanted pop/rock roots that take the foreground in Junipahís music. Brendon aka Huz had been living and performing around London for numerous years but decided to come back into NZ to team up with friends, especially long time friend, Nox. Nox, a free lance producer (has worked with artists such as J. Williams, Vince Harder, Sabre from Nesian Mystik) is also an accomplished rock producer, guitarist and drummer.
Both Nox and Huz have put together Junipahís sound and started performing around Auckland city with other musicians. They also immediately hit the studio to generate their new sound. Junipah had already started to finish numerous songs in preparation for an EP release when they were signed by Illegal Musik, under Warner Music. They are now preparing for the first single 'Love Your Ways' to be released soon. Their song 'Letting Go' had started to generate interest with radio late last year.
Telecom NZ has also shown great interest in Junipah. Junipah played at both Auckland and Wellington Telecom Christmas Parties (opening for OpShop) and performed at Auckland Telecomís Round the Bays tent. Further support from Telecom saw their song 'Love your Ways' soundtrack a recent YouTube release on its employees.
Telecom will be sponsoring Junipah for their first music video for 'Love Your Ways'. Junipah have also been awarded a new recording artists grant from NZ On Air.
