Galloway

Bio

Galloway is a two piece side project of singer/songwriter/guitarist Alan Galloway. Alan is a founding member of Wellingtons long standing pop/rock group Lets Planet. As a member of Lets Planet, Alan has supported international artists such as REM, Crowded House, Throwing Muses and Paul Kelly. After recording 3 critically acclaimed albums, both nationally and internationally, with Lets Planet, Alan embarked on a solo album as he had a handful of songs based around the acoustic guitar that were not entirely suited to Planets sound or format.

Teaming up with singer/percussionist, Mo Blishen from Wellington bands the Trephines, Madlight and Fragile, Galloway commenced performing around the North Island of New Zealand to good response. They have continued to do so on a regular basis over the last 3 to 4 years.

Strong on melody and interesting lyrically, the Galloway sound centres on an intertwining of male/female vocals with a strong acoustic accompaniment.Galloway are primarily an originals band but they also include a few interesting covers.

They have recorded a six song EP/CD, "The closer you get, the better I look", for release in June 2008 on Twanghead Records.
