Overtone

Bio

Overtone is (approximately) a 4 Piece indie-punk-funk-rock band from the North Shore. The whole project started with cousins Ryan Thomas and Alex Ward picking up their guitars and jamming out acoustic blink 182 and green day covers. After constructing their own harmonies for the songs it became apparent that the two had something special with their voices. In 2004 they included Jeremy Minton on bass and the songs started to flow despite the 3 ever really practising together. In 2006 Simon Jonassen from Where's Gary's Duvet was kidnapped and forced to play drums for Alex and Jeremy which allowed Ryan to concentrate on playing guitar and singing alongside his cousin Alex. Overtone has recently completed phase 1 of recording their EP and are due to re-touch the songs and produce the EP in late january/early february. 2007 looks promising with the possibility of playing big lunch out and rock quest and with the release of the EP things might just start happening.
