8 Up The Sun is an 8-piece metal assault outfit which was formed in late 2003 in Napier and Palmerson North. They are now based in Wellington.

"People reckon we are imitating Slipknot but we aren't anywhere near them. (Numbskull says) We are our own band. We are not imitating anybody. Sure there is gonna be 8 of us but that doesn't count for anything. 2004 and 2005 were tough times as we had alot of problems. 2006 has been more of a thinking stage and now 2007 is vastly approaching us. I think we are going to get things finalised. Our bio yes is very depressing and quite shameful, But once we have finalised out small army. Our assault will blacken everything around you regardless. The 8th black crusade is coming soon. WE SWEAR OF IT!!!!!"
