Sample Gee used to run Bassline Records with Sam Hill. He was also a presenter of 'The Pulse', a dance music show on Auckland's Max TV. Sample Gee is the mastermind behind the 'Lagered' series.

Sample Gee has performed alongside Paul Oakenfold, Judge Jules, Sonique, Justin Robertson, Andy Weatherall, Steve Lee, Mrs Woods, Matt Hardwick, Crystal Method, Vinylgroover & Marley, DJ Supreme, Trevor Reilly, Nightraver, Hixxy, Lenny Dee, M-People, The Grid, Fatboy Slim, Tom Wax, Al McKenzie (D-Ream), Daydream, Spellbound, MC Bee & Grooverider.

The name Sample Gee comes from Sample Gee's first name (Grant) and from when he created the samples in Total Effect.
