Bio

Auckland based band formed in 2004 by mikey and jono, the pair began bashing away at would later become the first few crash-test songs. Once the mail order bassist (Tony) arrived from Dunedin, the trio was complete.

More originals were chipped away at, and a diverse range of originals began to immerge. These were however, only the very pre-pubesant stages of what was to follow.
A demo was recorded by the band with minimal access to recording gear and fortunately the distribution of 'Demo 1' was neither enduring nor wide-spread. What this recording did achieve for the band was to help solidify songs, and reveal the need for 'something else'.

The 'something else' arrived with Jono on his return from China in the form of a sampler. This allowed the three-piece to add a new dimension, broadening their sound and allowing them to explore the realms of ethereal sounds and thoughts, voice overs and haunting choir backing vocals the music seemed to require.

The band began gigging in May 2005 and has continued to consistently do so since that time. the trilogy have worked hard on their live performance over their time spent gigging and have developed their live show into an entertaining spectrum of ear candy and seamless blends of songs meeting other songs in mid-air to form a pleasurable yet thought provoking experience for them and their audience.

The songwriting process tends to be a communal effort coming from the creative juices of three very varied musical tastes, creating a sound that can be compared to the sound of a piano falling down the stairs in 7/8 or the sound of a wilderbeast being gently stroked in a bar of 5, a bar of 6 and a bar of 7.

Using the abilities of all three members’ vocal chords the band capitalizes on harmonic opportunities and overlapping lyrical concepts to get their point across.

What’s in a name?
As for their mouth and a half full serving of a band name? Well it certainly does leave the mouth wondering what the hell kind of a sentence it just spoke and the brain left trying to grapple with the concept of remembering more than two words at a time...

Band Members:
Mikey Brown (guitar, vocals, keyboard)
Jono Teirnan (drums, vocals, samples)
Tony Swift (bass, synth, vocals)
