The Maori Platoon is the new force in Christchurch hip-hop.

Comprising members of various crews from the Linwood/Aranui suburbs of Christchurch, the Platoon have been ripping up festival stages around the city over the last four months.

In a relatively short time, the Platoon has performed at the Linwood LYFE festival, MANA in the Park, and Affirm. They are aligning themselves with dub-fusion outfit, Sound Sauce, and have just added Bone, Thugs n Harmony as their first international support.

Their first South Island Tour Is set for March.

They have received critical recognition for their live performances and are set to make a real name for themselves in the New Zealand music industry.

The Maori Platoon creates and perform their own beats and have numerous recordings already down for future mastering and release.
