Exiter is a 5-piece alternative indie rock band, who's sound has been described as "Joy Division meets White Zombie meets The Kinks".
Exiter formed in mid-2003, when five strangers were brought together by a common passion for 'alternative' music and 80s computer games. They are influenced by the likes of Kyuss, The Stooges, Nirvana, Shellac and The Breeders.
Exiter is named after Portia van Exiter, a random girl from Borneo who the band met one night at a party in Grey Lynn.
