End Of Discussion

Bio

End Of Discussion was formed in early 1997, when a group of four friends, inspired by a vision from God, started jamming on their instruments. High expectations and levels of commitment were founded from the outset, this meant somewhat of a juggling act, between full-time work, church commitments and two nights of practice a week.

Creating gig opportunities by making available what End Of Discussion had was a major factor in becoming recognized throughout Otago and Southland.

Within a year EOD had become a three piece, and felt it was a good thing to stay that way. Within that first year numerous original songs had been formed, consisting of straight-to-the-point lyrics and strong Christian values. These songs, among covers, were performed at various events all over the lower south island. Five of these songs were recorded to demo CD at CRC studios in Christchurch, in August of 1998.

In mid ’99, the trio traveled overseas and gained invaluable experience playing shows in Australia and the United States. It was during this time that God re-birthed the vision and purpose for the band, and the decision was made to enter full-time ministry.

Full-time jobs were resigned from at the end of April 2000. Then under the guidance of Richard Martin (ex Barak Zamar), preparations and developments were made for the step into life on the Road. The adaptability of EOD in both musical styles and audience targeting has been a defining feature of the bands ministry, with songs ranging from Hard-core rock, to Country, to happy silly fun.

With the help of student friends at Southland Institute of Technology a collection of these songs were recorded in three weeks at the end of 2000 and compiled together to make EOD's debut album, 'Good News'.

After two years touring, performing about 250 shows to over 30,000 people up and down the country, Joel Taylor (drummer) made the decision to leave the band to pursue other interests. From this it was decided ‘eod’ would continue to minister as best they could while the search for another drummer was made.

So the Boys in the Bedford continue touring, Andy Marshall (drummer) coming on board full-time in January 2003 bringing a fresh face and new dynamics to the team.
Through whatever God has in Store for the future the faith statement from which the band name was taken, will remain true.
