Born in the deep heart of the ol' south. The Lapelles emerged from the ashes of Christchurch's finest, with catchy hooks to fools the slickest of sharks, titalizing guitar lines and well shaped hair.
Hell bent on creating music for the 'pop' generation that your momma would love too. They pulled their creative juices together and out of a small dark garage in Linwood, they formed a 4-piece pop n roll band.
2003 was the year when the locals realised the talent on their doorsteps and The Lapelles took out B'net station RDU 98.5 FMs RounDUp band competition. Shocked and jolly well pleased with their achievement The Lapelles recorded their first single 'Trucks (Everything But You)' with Ian McAllister.
To support 'Trucks', The Lapelles collabrated with music video makers Shuriken (Richard Bell: much respected director of many international and local videos and Stephen McCarthy from Christchurch band Pine) to make their debut video. Filmed during an unforgetable stinken hot summers day near cave rock. The Lapelles bounced their way through their new video, which can be seen on Juice TV and C4.
'Trucks (Everything But You)' is set to send your ears a fluttering not mention your heart!
