Influenced by many musical genres, Flip Grater is creating her own chanteuse niche in New Zealand. With a honey coated voice that is both versatile and varied, Flip brings a highly personal viewpoint to her intelligent self-penned songs. Comfortable in an intimate cafe setting or on an open stage in front of thousands, Flip is a natural performer.
Since early 2003 Flip has been charming audiences at events like 91ZM's Carols in the Park, New Zealand's national museum, Te Papa and the 2004 Waipara Folk Festival. She also performed on the TVNZ National Anthem 24 hour New Zealand Music Month broadcast and made a guest appearance on TVNZ's Good Morning. Flip has supported New Zealand artists such as The Shins, Anika Moa, Lucid 3 and Autozamm.
Flip has also recorded and performed with electronic artist MC D/Mand, F.U.S.A bassist Damo and Christchurch indie-rockers Slipstream.
Flip hosts several radio shows on Christchurch b.net station 98.5 RDU and has released her debut EP 'Nameless' in March 2004 which features four original songs and a cover of Tom Wait's 'Blue Valentine'.
