Photonic are a massive force of originality in the world of rock and metal music. A fresh approach to the guitar and the arrangment of monster riffs has enabled Craig to produce inventive songs that are both confronting and accessible.
Never content to sound like an adolescent Ramones rip-off, Photonic believe in the further development of the rock genre. Photonic carry influences from esoteric thought, with the darkness and fervour of Slayer and the play-it-from-the-heart rawness and edge of Nirvana and Kyuss.
Creating powerful tunes since 1990, known as Synestesia from 1998 to 2001, Photonic have had the odd lineup change, though have managed to entertain Auckland on the live music scene regularly.
Over the years, Photonic have recorded on 2-track tape, 4-track tape, digital 8-track, at Montage Studio in Grey Lynn with Nick Abbott and at York Street Studios with Clint Murphy. Photonic have been aired on Juice TV, bFM, and Fleet FM.
