Pilot formed in August 2002, when after a self-imposed hiatus Joseph Hardie, and Raymond Bailey joined forces again. The two have been playing in bands together since 1993. They enlisted the services of Brendan Sturt and Jedaiah van Ewijk. The four squirreled themselves away in a practise room for a year of writing and refining.
Their self-titled EP was recorded in July 2003.
