Formed in early 2002 and previously known as My Dad Bill, Papa Zangief have been experimenting with the standard "2 guitars, bass and drums" setup for over a year. Only in June '03 have they unleashed their sound onto the Christchurch public.
Not content to be just another 'rock band,' they would rather be known as a roll band.
The band's influences range too far in many directions to be able to peg their style easily, however they could be described as alternative, and may tend to sound a little bit like everything on stage.
Despite their sometimes musical waywardness, they still grasp the ability to rock and/or roll an audience.
