Lapser formed around five years ago in the Far North. The bands current incarnation sees two original members Jacob (vocals, guitar) and Harlem (guitar) teamed up with Hamilton boys Shoka (bass) and ex-pat Northlander Kelly (drums). Jacob and Harlem have been playing on and off together since early 1994 at Kaitaia College.
The band's sound has evolved over the years, with general public consensus being that Lapser has its own sound.
The bands previous successes have been: recording an independent EP as a prize from a previous Battle of the Bands Regional Final, as well as winning song of the week for a succession of weeks on Hamiltons Generator radio station.
Now that the band has a steady line up, they can now put a focus on taking it the whole way.
