Cell

Bio

"Powerful, classy, and inimitable."

Inspired by thoughts, beliefs, environment and experience, Cell fashion songs into a melodic stream of twisted aggression, fusing genre with style, creating songs with purpose, importance, inspiration, insight and meaning.

This is Cell - creative, dynamic, and raw, to understand these words are not to read them, to understand these words are to Listen, and experience Cell.

Cell "the concept", was birthed in late 99, By brothers Cliff and Gideon, in the South Auckland Suburb of Manurewa. Bound by love of Music with feeling, aggression and emotion, they took their Hip Hop based influence, broke it down and then redefined it into an art they Like to Call Twisted Metal, a fusion of smooth melodies, pounding funk and hip hop grooves , blanketed with plush rhythmical guitars and injected with a focused , yet, chaotic vocal style.

Once thought turned action, the core members of the band were established and laid the foundations on which to build upon. The early stages were purposefully used to established, develop and then redefine themselves, being able to grow and progress into the style of Music that would capture 4 elements, passion, emotion, fear and energy.

Ideas turned to reality, reality turned to self actualisation. By the end of 2001 this process put a stamp on the direction Cell was heading, both, visually and audibly, realising who they were stylistically, allowed for Cell to branch out into new things, but always knowing what there main focus would be.

Inspired by thoughts, beliefs, environment and experience, Cell fashion songs into a melodic stream of twisted aggression, fusing genre with style, creating songs with purpose, importance, inspiration, insight and meaning.

There always seems to be a deeper level to every phrase, riff, and melody. Songs are not merely about words, but about how the music makes you feel, and respond. The mood the song sets, and the audible diction in which it is delivered.
