Carousel

Bio

Carousel has been performing in Wellington and the Kapiti Coast since 2000. They regularly perform at Te Papa and have performed at the 2002 and 2003 Fringe Festivals.

The music of carousel is a mosaic of sound pictures that incorporates original composition and improvisation using a unique blend of acoustic instruments: cello, violin, mandolin, banjo, guitar and vocals.

The wealth of experience that amasses in Carousel includes Francesca Mountfort, the glamourous cellist whose credits include Box of Birds, Leila Adu, Mr Sterile Assembly and playing the voice of God in a production of Bad Jelly the Witch.

Father-and-son duo Peter and Eli Mrkusich have played together in a number of notable bands over the years. Susan Colien-Reid is a wayward classically-trained violinist whose compositions have featured on National Radio. She has previously supported Hello Sailor and Judy Small.

Band Members:
Francesca Mountfort (cello)
Peter Mrkusich (guitar, vocals)
Eli Mrkusich (mandolin)
Susan Colien-Reid (violin, vocals)
