Singer/songwriter Bradley Garner began playing the guitar in April of 2006. In September of 2009 he began singing and writing his own songs, his first original song was 'A Thousand Days'. In January of 2011 Bradley released his debut single 'Fugitive'! He has performed at a wide range of events in New Zealand including festivals, carnivals, charity shows, cafe performances and many more...

What inspired you to become a musician?

That is probably one of the hardest questions I’ve been asked. I’ve always loved music, as a kid I’d sit by our sound system and record my voice onto tapes and play tracks in between, like a radio presenter. I absolutely loved it! When I was in the UK my Dad’s best friend gave me a old guitar for one of my birthdays, at the time I thought nothing of it and it spent most of its time in the attic. It wasn’t until I came to NZ in 2006 when I started playing it. I bought an electric guitar and thought it would be awesome to be in a band. I began writing my own music in September of 2009 and it’s just snowballed since them. There wasn’t much inspiration behind becoming a musician, but it feels right!

How do you come up with your lyrics?

Generally I sing about things and events in my life, I guess that’s why so many of my songs are about girls and “love”… It’s like my release, writing lyrics to songs gets everything out that I probably normally wouldn’t share if I didn’t write songs. I sing my heart in my words. There are a couple of my songs that were random; I can’t really put my finger on where I got the inspiration.

What will your next release be?

I am currently working on a single called ‘So Beautiful’, which will release in the next couple of months. Then I am beginning work on an EP, which will release sometime afterwards.

What advice would you like to give to other aspiring musicians?

Never give up. Never back down. If you’ve got a passion, stick with it. Don’t let people knock you down.

How do you keep in contact with your fans?

I have a fair few pages on the net. I mainly use Facebook and my website to keep in contact with my fans. When I get to 1000 fans on Facebook I'm giving away over $100 worth of stuff for free! I also find Twitter and Myspace to be really handy! Please check them out! ;)
