Fuelset - Fuelset Newsletter Interview

07 Jun 2009 // An interview by Shade
What is the best gig you have ever performed at, and why?

The first Auckland show back after the Australian tour, it was great to be back home and the turn out was awesome.

What is your favourite NZ venue?

That changes alot - it use to be 6 Ft Under, then that shut down so it became Hysteria, Then that shut down, next would be Oblivion and well thats shut now,

so maybe... Transmission Room.

What NZ musicians or bands would you like to see more of, and why?

Upraw - They have a huge live show that is just good to see.

What is your most embarrassing on tour/gig moment?

I jumped off stage at a show in Tauranga onto some chairs stacked up down the side of the venue only to have the whole stack fall over.

How did you come up with the band name Fuelset?

Jase (Drums) came up with it i think he stole it from band's song name?

How do you describe your music?

That's always hard - Umm.. Metal.

What can we expect to see from Fuelset over the next year?

Heaps more touring and live shows as well as some more recordings and videos

What advice would you like to give to other aspiring musicians?

Push on and stay true to what you want, you'll get there.

About Fuelset

In mid 2005 Joe Murdie and Jason Anderson fresh out of the ashes of Attica and in search for something new, came across Darrin Floyd and Tonie Pohatu, and the uncompromising and powerful all original metal outfit Fuelset was born.

Fuelset played their first live show together at Hysteria on 22 October 2005. Since then numerous live shows throughout New Zealand and Australia, as well as constantly writing new material, has seen the band go from strength to strength.

In February 2007 Fuelset entered York St Studios NZ, with engineer Andrew Buckton, to record two new tracks, 'Breakdown' and 'The Everchanging', which were mastered in Australia at Studio 301.
